Getting Started

What is Pitch Planner?

An overview of Pitch Planner — what it does, who it's for, and how to get started.

Pitch Planner is a free, browser-based platform for youth soccer coaches. It includes a tournament builder, a live match-day time tracker, and team management tools — no spreadsheets, no complicated software, no cost.

What can you do with it?

Tournament Builder

  • Create leagues with round-robin fixtures where every team plays every other team
  • Run knockout cups with single-elimination brackets, seeding, and bye handling
  • Run group stage + knockout tournaments — group stage feeding into an elimination round
  • Manage match results and watch standings update automatically
  • Schedule matches across multiple venues and time slots
  • Share your tournament with a public link that anyone can view without logging in

Time Tracker & Team Manager

  • Track playing time with a live match clock and automatic per-player minute tracking
  • Record goals, assists, cards, saves, and substitutions during the game with simple two-tap actions
  • Build lineups with formation diagrams and saved templates
  • Plan rotations with automatic substitution intervals and bench time alerts
  • Track attendance for practices and events (up to 50 events)
  • View season stats — minutes, goals, assists, cards, and saves aggregated across all matches
  • Post-match features — player of the match, penalty shootout tracking, position heatmap
  • Export summaries as PDF or CSV
  • Share updates with parents via a public team feed link — no login required
  • Invite coaches and managers to share match-day duties (up to 2 coaches, 3 managers per team)
