Pitch Planner supports three formats: Round-Robin (every team plays every other team), Knockout (single-elimination bracket with optional third-place match), and Pool Play (teams play in pools with optional knockout brackets, supporting divisions). See our format comparison guide.
You can add up to 16 teams and 4 venues per tournament. Each team can have a custom name. For knockout formats, the system automatically handles byes if the number of teams is not a power of two.
Pitch Planner uses a circle rotation algorithm for round-robin fixtures to ensure balanced matchups. For knockout formats, it creates a bracket with proper seeding. Fixtures are generated instantly after you add your teams.
Tournaments that have not been edited for 30 days are automatically archived. All tournaments are stored for up to 60 days from creation. If you need longer storage, make sure to keep your tournament active by updating it periodically.

Use Pitch Planner's Match Day tool. Before the match, set a target minimum playing time (e.g., 50%). During the game, the app tracks every second each player is on the field. After the final whistle, you get a summary showing who met the target and who fell short. It works for 4v4, 5v5, 7v7, 9v9, and 11v11 formats.
Pitch Planner's Match Day tool is a free soccer substitution tracker that runs in your phone's browser — no download needed. Tap a bench player and a field player to swap them. The app tracks minutes automatically and gives you a post-match summary with CSV export.
Yes. The Rotation Planner auto-generates a substitution schedule based on your match duration and rotation interval. During the game, you get visual alerts when it's time to rotate. You can also override the plan and make manual subs at any time.
